Lifestyle bike ride photo
We were out bike riding, and I wanted to get a light, lifestyle-type shot by the water. It isn’t quite framed right for a catalog shoot, but I wanted a Land’s End catalog type of feel.
Her white top and the white sand made for great fill light. I know I should have cropped a little wider in camera to keep her fingers and some more of the handlebars, but I would have been off a ridge and in the water, so I took what I could get. Next time, I’ll remember to reposition the talent.
I think that f/5.6 was the right aperture for this shoot, although I should have tested f/8 just to compare. This lens (the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II) certainly shows some of its limitations in this shot. I do wonder if a smaller aperture may have helped.
Beach Babe
Colllioure has a small beach which was ideal for candid shots.
